Mission and Values

Our Mission

At Riversong we place a strong emphasis on being a 'vessel of honor' as spoken of in 2 Timothy 2:20-21. We believe that scripture is clear in stating that we should all strive to be 'useful to the Master' and 'prepared for every good work' as that passage describes. Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:11-12 that the 'apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers' were given for the purpose 'equipping the saints for the purpose of ministry'. But what kind of ministry Is Paul referring to? For that answer we look to Jesus himself. In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus tells his disciples to 'go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you'.

At Riversong we want to fulfill these passages. We desire to be vessels of honor first and foremost ourselves that the God we serve would find us useful to Himself. As a church we believe our calling is to help train up, equip, and help disciple you in your walk with Jesus so that you can be effective in your calling. In Matthew 28:19 He said make disciples of 'all nations'. He was talking about places the gospel hadn't been preached and that is still the calling today for each and every one of us. That commission has never changed and we all know people that need to hear the message of good news. At Riversong our mission is to be a training ground where you can come and be equipped/encouraged in your everyday walk so that you can better fulfill the commission Jesus gave to all of us in your own life!
